Handwritten Remover

Photograph a worksheet, an exam or a form that somebody has written on, and Handwritten Remover gives you back the blank document. Upload a PDF or an image, brush over the handwriting you want gone, and download a clean copy.

You decide what goes. Automatic handwriting detection is unreliable on real photographs — it either leaves half the writing behind or eats the printed questions along with it. So the brush is the detector. You mark the area; the app works out which ink inside it is safe to remove.

Before anything is erased, Show what will be removed paints the decision back onto the page: pink for ink that will go, green for printed content being protected. You can see exactly what is about to happen and adjust before committing.

A rough brush stroke is not permission to delete a rectangle. Inside the area you mark, the app separates the ink it finds and keeps what looks like part of the printed document — question text, table rules, circuit diagrams, the lines of a form.

Two signals do most of that work. Ink belonging to something that carries on well outside your stroke is printed structure, not the answer you painted over. And a rule or wire crossed by handwriting is recognised by following the line through the gap and finding it continuing on the far side.

When it is unsure, it keeps the pixel. Leaving a stray mark behind is a smaller failure than destroying the question underneath it. For the cases where that judgement is wrong — a ruled underline drawn by hand is, geometrically, indistinguishable from a printed one — Force remove overrides the protection for that stroke.

Every result is checked before you see it: outside the final removal mask, each pixel must be byte-for-byte what it was. If restoration touched anything it should not have, the result is rejected rather than shown.

Nowhere. Handwritten Remover runs entirely in your browser. Reading the file, rendering the pages, refining the mask, reconstructing the paper and building the finished PDF are all done on your own machine.

There is no upload, so NorthForge never receives your document, never stores it and could not read it. There is no account, no database and no AI service in the path.

That cuts both ways. Because nothing is kept, closing the tab discards the document and every mark you drew. Download the clean copy before you leave.
