BeFit is a workout app published by NorthForge Labs. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and what your choices are.
Summary
BeFit stores your training data on your device. It has no account system, and it does not send your data to NorthForge Labs. The only feature that can transmit anything is the AI Coach, and only when an AI provider is configured — which it is not in the version published on Google Play.
Information stored on your device
BeFit writes the following to its private storage on your phone:
- Training profile — equipment, goals, focus areas, experience level, sessions per week, session length, and your choice of kilograms or pounds.
- Training plan — the current 30-day block.
- Progress — completed exercises and days, and logged sets.
- History and personal bests — a record of each finished day and your best logged performance per exercise.
- Streak — your run of consecutive days.
- Coach conversation — messages between you and the Coach.
- Buddy profile and messages — if you set one up.
This information is not transmitted to NorthForge Labs. We do not operate a server that receives it.
Information BeFit does not collect
BeFit does not collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, location, or contacts. It does not access your camera, microphone or photos. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no advertising identifiers.
Accounts
BeFit has no sign-up or sign-in. Your data is not linked to an identity we hold.
The AI Coach
The Coach operates in one of two modes depending on how the app is built.
On-device (the published version). The Coach answers using a rules engine that reads your current session. No network requests are made.
With an AI provider configured. Your message and a summary of your current session are sent to OpenRouter to generate a reply. The summary contains the day's exercises, your sets and reps, your goals, equipment, experience level, streak, and the recent messages in the conversation. It does not contain your name, contact details or location, because BeFit does not hold them.
When this mode is active, your request is processed under OpenRouter's privacy terms and those of the model provider it routes to. BeFit can alternatively be built to send Coach requests to a server operated by the publisher, which then forwards them to the provider.
The version published on Google Play uses the on-device mode. If that changes, this policy will be updated in the same release.
BeFit Buddy
Buddy is designed to pair you with one other person working toward a similar goal. If you create a Buddy profile you choose a username and an optional display name. BeFit does not ask for your real name, age, location or contact details.
Buddy matching is not currently active. There is no matching service, so no pairing takes place. Your Buddy profile and any messages you write remain on your device. Blocking and reporting are recorded locally and are not transmitted to us.
If a future release introduces matching, profile data and messages would be sent between users through a server. This policy will be updated before that ships.
Children
BeFit is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children.
Deleting your data
All BeFit data is stored on your device.
- In the app: Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all my data.
- Uninstall BeFit. This removes the app's private storage.
Either action is immediate and permanent. There is no account to delete and no server-side copy to remove. Because there is no backup, deleted data cannot be recovered.
Permissions
BeFit requests no runtime permissions. Location, camera, microphone and media permissions are blocked in the Android manifest.
Changes
This policy is updated when the app's behaviour changes. The date above reflects the most recent change.
