Trace

Delete your account

Deletion is permanent, immediate and available to you directly. There is no recovery period and nothing to ask us for first.

Trace works without an account. If you have never created one, there is nothing on this page to do — see what is on your phone instead.

In the app

This is the fastest route, and it is the one to use if you still have Trace installed.

1. Open Settings
From your profile — the level badge at the top left of the map — choose Settings.
2. Open Account
The Account and backup row, under the Account heading.
3. Choose Delete account
The last item on that screen, under the Delete account heading. You will be asked to confirm twice.

What is deleted

Everything held in your account, permanently:

Any crash report that was linked to your account is detached from it at the same moment. What remains is an anonymous record of a software fault — an error message and a date — with nothing that identifies you. It is deleted within 90 days like every other crash report.

Deletion cannot be undone. There is no backup and no grace period.

What stays on your phone

Trace is local-first. Your adventures, memories and its own resized copies of your photographs are kept in the app’s private storage on the device, and deleting your account does not remove them. That is deliberate: an account is a backup, and deleting a backup should not delete the thing it was a backup of.

To remove what is on the phone, uninstall Trace. The operating system removes the app’s private storage with it — every adventure, memory and stored copy, and the record of what you agreed to.

Android may include an app’s private storage in its own device backup, to the Google account already signed in on the phone. That is your backup, made by your operating system, under your own account — Trace neither reads it nor receives it, and it can be turned off in the phone’s backup settings.

The photographs in your camera roll are never affected by any of this. Trace only ever reads your photo library. It has never modified, deleted or added to it.

If you no longer have the app

You can still ask us to delete your account, and we will.

Email support@northforge.company with DELETE in the subject line, from the address the account uses. That address is how we confirm the request is yours — we cannot delete an account on the word of someone who cannot receive its mail.

We will confirm within five working days and complete the deletion within 30 days of the request. What is removed is exactly the account list above; there is no separate process and no lesser version of it. Anything that was only ever on your phone went with the app when you uninstalled it, and was never ours to delete.

BeFit

Everything above is about Trace. BeFit has no account at all — no sign-up, no sign-in, and nothing uploaded to NorthForge. There is no server-side copy of your training, so there is nothing to request from us and nothing we could delete for you.

Everything BeFit holds is in its private storage on your device, and you can erase all of it yourself:

Reset the app
Open Settings in BeFit and choose Reset everything. This erases your profile, plan, progress, history, personal bests, Coach conversation and Buddy data.
Uninstall BeFit
Removing the app deletes its private storage, and everything listed above with it.

Either is immediate and permanent. The full terms are in the BeFit Privacy Policy.

ThoughtTyped

ThoughtTyped does have an account, held on our server (hosted by Railway in the United States): your username, display name and a hash of your password; any profile photo, bio, pronouns and colour you add; who you follow and block; your groups and invite links; the messages, reactions and writing statistics you have sent; and any Thoughts or prompt answers from the last 24 hours.

Delete it inside the app: open Me, tap the settings icon, choose Delete account and confirm with your password. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your profile and profile photo, follows, blocks, Thoughts and answers, the messages you have sent and your direct conversations are removed; group conversations continue for their other members. Copies in our daily backups are gone within 7 days.

If you can no longer sign in, email support@northforge.company with DELETE in the subject line and your ThoughtTyped username in the message. ThoughtTyped accounts have no email address, so we will confirm the request is yours before deleting anything, and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Signing out or uninstalling the app removes your session and any saved sign-in details from the phone; neither deletes the account.
